The Student Specialists (Housing Front Office) are responsible for assisting the Housing Assignments Coordinator with running the front office for University Housing. This includes answering phones and emails, liaising with students, families, and other constituents, answering questions, filing, managing archive materials, making copies, delivering items and correspondence to other offices on campus, and performing other office tasks as assigned.

Student Specialists (Housing Front Office) must be students currently enrolled at NKU and have a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA for undergraduate candidates and a 3.5 cumulative and semester GPA for graduate candidates. Student Specialists must be able to perform light physical tasks. Student Specialists must be available at least 12 hours per week during normal business hours (8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday). Outside or other jobs are strictly limited to 10 hours per week or less. Approval for another job is not guaranteed.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience working and/or living in residential housing at NKU and experience in a customer service role.

Student Specialists receive the following:

1. Hourly pay for time worked, typically starting at $7.25/hour.

A limited number of Student Lead positions will be available for an increased hourly pay.

Student Specialists are eligible to work year-round.

Student Specialists must be available to work a minimum of two University breaks (Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Spring Break) during the academic year, while the University Housing office remains open. Student Specialists are expected to be available at least 12 hours per week during normal business hours (8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday) and cannot exceed 20 hours per week.

Student Specialists working during the summer must be available at least 15 hours per week during normal business hours (8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, limited weekends) and cannot exceed 20 hours per week, if taking Summer classes. Student Specialists are expected to take no more than 5 business days of vacation during the Summer semester. Students who are not taking Summer classes are eligible for up to 35 hours per week, as long as they are enrolled in classes for the following Fall semester.
